Hot Pink and Black Embroidered Teddy

Roses embroidered across sheer black mesh in hot pink, with black satin ribbon criss-crossed down the front.

The roses are worked in ombre. Each bloom shades from a deep core out through bright hot pink to a pale tint at the outer petals, and the leaves shade the same way, so the embroidery has depth instead of sitting flat on the mesh. They cross the cups, run down both sides of the torso and carry onto the hip. The cups are plunge with underwire, and the top edge of each one is scalloped along the line of the flowers. Three small satin bows finish it, one at the outer corner of each cup and one between them.

Black satin ribbon criss-crosses down the center front from the gore to the waist, over a mesh panel, so it reads as a ladder rather than something you have to work loose. Black satin binding traces the panel seams and a black band crosses the hip. At the back the straps cross the shoulder blades, the band closes with hooks and eyes, and the bottom is a thong.

Sizing

The cups are underwired and the band has little give, so size to your bust first. The criss-cross at the front is a fixed detail rather than a working tie, so it is not a way to take the piece in or let it out. The run is graded through 2X rather than stopping at XL and calling one plus size good enough.

Care

Hand wash cold with a mild detergent and lay it flat to dry. No machine, no dryer, no fabric softener. Embroidery on fine mesh snags easily, so fasten the back hooks before it goes near water and store it flat rather than folded against itself.

Wear it for

Valentines, anniversaries, birthdays and boudoir shoots. Hot pink on black reads louder across a room than anything quieter would, which is usually the whole point.
