Wand Vibrators

A wand vibrator is a large rounded head on the end of a handle. The head covers a broad area rather than a point, and the handle is the part people underestimate: it puts the toy where you want it without you having to bend your wrist into a shape you cannot hold for long.

These started life as body massagers sold for sore shoulders, and that origin is why they are built the way they are. They were engineered to run at high power for a long time on a big muscle, which is why a wand outlasts and outmuscles almost anything designed as a sex toy from the start.

The honest caveat is that a wand can be too much, and that is a real complaint rather than a squeamish one. Broad strong contact directly on the clitoris is overwhelming for plenty of people, and the fix is not a lower setting. Put fabric or a hand between you and the head. They differ mostly by size and by how they get their power.

• Full-size wands: the original shape, around a foot long, with the most power in the range. The handle reaches anywhere without contortion, and that is half the reason people keep them.
• Mini and micro wands: the same head shape scaled down to palm size. Less power, far easier to travel with, and much easier to angle for a partner.
• App controlled wands: full wand power driven from a phone, in the room or from another country.
• Suction and wand hybrids: a wand head at one end and an air pulse mouth at the other. Two technologies in one body, for anyone still working out which they prefer.
• Unicorn and novelty wands: the same mechanics in a shape that does not look like a hardware store massager. Function is unchanged.
• Bullet vibrators: the opposite approach. Pinpoint instead of broad, for when a wand is more contact than you want.
