Black Marabou Robe

Merlot marabou around the hood, down both front edges, all the way around the hem and at both cuffs.

The feathers run the entire outline of the piece in a deep wine merlot, against a black body that hides nothing from the shoulder to the floor. There is a hood, and it is a real one, deep enough to wear up, edged in the same marabou so it frames your face in feathers. The sleeves are long and cut wide, flaring at the cuff where the trim picks up again.

A red satin sash ties it at the bust, right where the two feathered edges meet. Below that the front falls open and stays open, cut all the way to the floor, so it moves behind you when you walk.

Sizing

The sash ties at the bust and the front falls open below it, so the fit here comes down to length and sleeve more than anything else. The chart above is the measurement each size is cut for.

Care

Marabou needs different handling from the rest of your drawer. Spot clean the body, never machine wash it, and never put feathers anywhere near a dryer. Shake the trim out and let it air dry, then hang this on its own so the feathers are not crushed flat against anything.

Wear it for

Anniversaries, birthdays, boudoir shoots, New Year's, and any entrance worth making twice. This is the layer that goes on over everything else, and it is the one people remember.
