Torso length matters more than dress size. This is the one thing that ruins an otherwise correct fit. A bodysuit cut for a shorter torso will pull uncomfortably at the shoulders and crotch no matter how well it fits everywhere else. If you are long through the body, prioritize stretch and adjustable straps over the size on the label.
Check the closure before anything else. Snaps are standard and they are the difference between a manageable bathroom trip and a genuinely bad one. Three snaps beat one. No closure at all means stepping out of the whole thing, which at a festival means a portable toilet floor. Worth knowing in advance.
Decide your leg cut honestly. High-cut and thong styles look longer in the leg and photograph beautifully, and they also mean a bare hip for fourteen hours. A romper or a lower-cut leg is the comfortable version of the same look.
Mesh and sheer need a plan underneath. Pasties, a bralette, or nothing, but decide before the day rather than in a tent. Nude-tone pieces disappear under white and pale mesh, black shows through everything.
Sparkle sheds and mesh snags. Loose sequins will end up on everything you own, which is usually fine and occasionally not. Mesh catches on rings, nails and glitter, so take them off before pulling one on.
White glows and shows. It is the most-requested color in this category and it lights up under UV. It also picks up every mark, so it is a one-night piece rather than a three-day one.
