Jopen LUST L2.5 Review: A Great Little Bullet, Now Dated

Read this first. We no longer carry the LUST L2.5, and Jopen is no longer in our catalog at all. It was a good little toy in 2018. Compact vibrators have improved enough since that I would not send you looking for one now. What I would buy instead is at the bottom.

What it was
A four-inch external bullet, shaped roughly like a bent finger. Thin sturdy shaft, a slight inward curve, an angled head with a flat face and a rounded tip, and a bulbous base you could actually grip. A pair of ridges ran up toward the head. Silicone over the whole thing, one control button on the base, and a triple-press lock so it did not switch itself on in a suitcase.
Jopen built it as part of the LUST line, which ran to fifteen or so vibes covering most shapes and price points. This was the entry into that range and it was priced accordingly.
Why it was good
Power for the size, mostly. Small vibrators in 2018 were usually a compromise, and the LUST L2.5 was one of the ones that was not. The motor was strong enough that the vibration reached the tip rather than dying somewhere in the middle, which sounds like a low bar and absolutely was not at the time.
The shape did real work too. A flat face gives you broad, diffused contact and the rounded tip gives you a point, so one toy covered two quite different preferences depending on how you held it. Add fully waterproof and a size that disappears into any bag, and it was a sensible first vibrator and a sensible travel one.
Why it is dated now
Three things, and all three are places the category has simply moved on. The silicone had noticeable drag, meaning it did not glide across skin without lube. Modern silicone finishes are considerably smoother, and while you should be using lube anyway, you should not be forced into it by the surface of the toy.
The controls were awkward. One button doing every job means holding it to change speed and tapping it to switch off, and the two get confused often enough to interrupt what you were doing. Current toys mostly separate those functions, which costs the manufacturer almost nothing and saves you real irritation.
And it got loud at the top end. That was normal in 2018 and it is not now. Quiet motors are the single biggest improvement in this category over the past few years, and if you live with anyone at all it is the thing you will notice first.
What I would buy instead
Three compact vibrators that do the same job better. All silicone, all rechargeable, all quieter than the Jopen ever was, and none of them much more expensive.
If this would be your first one, the best beginner vibrators covers more ground, and bullet versus wand is worth reading before you commit to something this small.
